Pagan Online servers shutting down, game to become playable offline

Pagan Online will soon no longer be playable online.

Pagan Online, the action RPG from Wargaming and Mad Head, will have its online servers close on August 4. At that point, the game will continue to be playable offline in solo mode.

Pagan previously required everyone to be online to play it, regardless of their party size. Those who played Pagan in the past will receive seven days of Premium and one free vehicle in each of Wargaming's major games (World of Tanks, Warplanes, Warships, Blitz). These gifts will be deposited into your account when the August 4 patch drops.

Players who purchased the game through Wargaming's website directly will also get a Steam key on the same day. Going forward, Steam will be where the game can be found, though you won't be able to buy it there until the patch releases. Progress will also transfer between the different versions, so you should be able to pick up where you left off offline.

"Since the launch of Pagan Online, Wargaming and Mad Head Games have been working to ensure the best possible gaming experience. Unfortunately, over the last year, it has become clear that supporting Pagan Online as a multiplayer game is no longer sustainable," Wargaming wrote in a blog post breaking the news.

Pagan Online debuted in Early Access in May last year. I played it then and found it lacking unique qualities. The game left Early Access a couple of months later, and though it did improve over time, its overall Steam review rating currently stands at 'Mixed'.
