Valorant is getting a surrender option

Valorant's matches can feel extremely long, especially when your team keeps losing rounds.

Valorant developer Riot Games has confirmed that it's working on a way to allow players to politely end a losing match. A surrender option will arrive with patch 1.02.

Though the patch doesn't yet have a solid release date, it's meant to be dropping this week. 1.02 is also adding the first iteration of Competitive Play for Valorant, a feature fans have been asking for since the beta.

When Riot revealed the option to surrender on the official blog, the developer didn't say what's going to happen to players' MMR points when they choose to surrender. For instance, the game could force the team that initiated it to lose some points, or place no penalties on either team as if the match never happened.

We'll find out for sure when patch notes for 1.02 are released.
