Red Dead Redemption 2 players are still discovering more rare NPC ambushes

Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to surprise players this many years later.

A fairly regular post on the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit is one where a longtime player discovers something they'd never seen before. The game is full of little interactions that most totally miss, even on repeat playthroughs.

Things like the NPCs asking for help on the side of the road are among them, but the more interesting are the ambushes and traps you could fall into if you're not careful, which trigger a unique cutscene involving a local gang or some other bizarre phenomenon in the region.

Reddit user Lumbaginator was taking a walk in the woods - seemingly near Roanoke - when he fell into a Murfree Brood pitfall trap. What's interesting is that a few players chimed in to say that they'd run into a similar ambush in Guarma.

Others had a slightly different version of the same ambush play out. For them, the Murfrees caused Arthuer's horse to trip and ran into woods, which usually gets the player to chase them, and that's when they fall into the trap.

Of all the months and multiple playthroughs of this game; I never knew this could happen. from r/reddeadredemption2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is full of little encounters like that, not to mention extreme attention to detail only a fraction of the audience will be even notice. More recently, players realised that Arthur counts bullets as he loads them into his revolver. Others have documented how closely in-game animals mimic their real-world counterparts.
