EA Access is officially coming to Steam this summer

It was recently announced that EA Access will finally arrive on Steam this summer, with its first wave of games scheduled to introduce over 25 new titles to the PC storefront.

The news comes from an official statement published on the EA blog, which provides some critical details about EA Access' long-anticipated move to Steam. We already knew that EA Access would be coming to Steam soon, but it has now been clarified that it will launch this summer.

"Electronic Arts has now launched the first wave of 25+ EA games coming to Steam," the statement reads. It goes on to detail that BioWare classics Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition will be among the games added in the first wave, as well as several titles from the Need For Speed franchise.

The post also mentions the arrival of a variety of fan-favourites such as Plants vs Zombies, as well as indie hits like Unravel, Fe, and Sea of Solitude, all of which are also included in the first wave of EA Access on Steam.

As well as providing a list of games included in the subscription, the statement officially confirms that the EA Access subscription will be made available to Steam users later this summer. As expected, the subscription doesn't just net you access to the 25+ games included in the first wave, but also allows you to benefit from exclusive discounts and extra in-game benefits for certain titles.

The blog post concludes by saying that more information will be made available at EA Play Live, which was originally scheduled for June 11 but has since been postponed until June 18.

This isn't the only showcase that was postponed as a result of current events - the PS5 games event, originally scheduled to air on June 4, has also been pushed back to a currently unspecified date.
