Summer Games Done Quick 2020 will be held online

Summer Games Done Quick 2020, the charity speedrunning event, will be held online this year.

Organizers for Summer Games Done Quick 2020 have announced due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, the charity event will be held online.

The charity event was originally scheduled to be a live event in Minnesota. It will now be broadcasted from the studio with participants performing speedruns from home.

This year's event is benefiting Doctors Without Borders and will take place August 16-23 starting at 11:30am EDT, 4:30pm BST on Twitch.

The last Games Done Quick was held in January and was dubbed Awesome Games Done Quick. It raised $3.13 million in donations for the Prevent Cancer Foundation with more than 54,000 donations coming from over 80 countries.

The previous record for donations came from Summer Games Done Quick 2019, which raised around $3 million.
