The Witcher 3 no longer eligible for $10 Epic Store coupon after slight price cut

You can no longer get The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for $5 on the Epic Games Store.

The Epic Games Store Mega Sale kicked off last week, dropping the prices of many games on the store. Epic also brought back the $10 coupon promo, which gives everyone a free $10 discount on any game at $14.99 or above.

Anytime you use that coupon to buy something, you get another, and another for every time you buy something, which effectively means anything above $15 is $10 cheaper. Unfortunately, this got at least one developer to drop the price of its game just enough to take it out of the list of eligible games.

One such as developer is CD Projekt Red, which reduced the price of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition to $14.98, one cent below $14.99, its price at the start of sale. For a time, applying the $10 coupon meant that you could get the game for the unbeatable price of just $5.

After pointing out to his followers how great of a deal that was, @Wario64 then noticed that the price changed, and that the $10 coupon no longer applies.

Epic Games previously said that the $10 doesn't get taken out of developers' cut, meaning that it's paid for entirely. With that in mind, however, developers also like to protect the perception of how cheap/expensive their games are, so that could be the reason why this change was made.
