Capcom will release “multiple major titles” between now and March 2021

Capcom is looking forward to a very successful fiscal year.

As part of Capcom‘s earnings reveal [PDF] for the publisher’s FY2020, the company touched on its plans for FY2021, which kicked off in April and goes on until the end of March 2021.

By the end of the current fiscal year, Capcom expects to sell 28 million units, which is significantly up from the past three years. It will do this through 13 new SKUs, and continued sales of its back catalogue.

Resident Evil 3 is, of course, its first major release this fiscal year, so that takes out three SKUs, leaving us with ten. If we assume all of its games are coming to multiple platforms, that’s probably three or four games launching between now and the end of March.

Resident Evil 8 is obviously the big rumour, and it’s possible the publisher is sitting on a new fighting game. Then there’s Dead Rising and its other smaller franchises. Dead Rising is closely associated with Xbox, so there could be a new one releasing alongside Xbox Series X.

Capcom’s release doesn’t hint at what series these games are part of, just that they’re “major titles,” but the publisher’s sales expectations leads us to believe they’re going to be big games.
