Paul Haddad, the voice behind Resident Evil 2's original Leon Kennedy, has passed away

Actor Paul Haddad, best known within the games industry as the original voice of Resident Evil 2's Leon Kennedy, has passed away at age 56.

Haddad's passing was confirmed today by developer Invader Studios, which he worked with on a tribute to the retro-horror Daymare: 1998.

"Paul Haddad, our dear friend and an icon among the RE community, has passed away recently. We've been truly honored to have the chance to meet and work with such a great man and a brilliant professional that He was."

An obituary in The Star states Haddad passed on April 11 - "peacefully and comfortably, after a brief and unexpected illness."

"He was the most wickedly funny and talented man we have ever known. His bravery and love will always be an example to us all."

Born in Birmingham, England, Haddad went on to study at the National Theatre School of Canada. Haddad had a long career in television, appearing in voiced roles on shows including Babar, The Adventures of Tintin, Rupert, and the 90s-era X-Men cartoon where he provided the voice of Quicksilver.
