Devil's Hunt developer shuts down after failing to pay staff - report

According to a Polish report, the developer behind Devil's Hunt has shuttered.

Devil's Hunt, released last September on PC, was the debut game from Polish studio Layopi Games. The Warsaw-based team had been working on console ports since then, but it appears those won't be released.

A new report from PPE [Polish] cities multiple anonymous tips from a number of developers at Layopi, who all say they have not been paid in months.

According to PPE, the November salary was paid in three instalments over December, January and February. It also says that when staff went to work on Friday, they found empty disks. Their belongings had been thrown out without warning.

Layopi Games' official Twitter has been dormant since around the release of the game. Its most recent activity act was a retweet promoting the game on October 1. Before that, the last official news was a tweet on September 20 announcing a game update.

Devil's Hunt was poorly received at launch, with a 47 Metacritic score and a "mixed" review rating on Steam.

We've reached out to Layopi Games for comment.
