Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is now available on PC

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is now available in Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC.

Microsoft announced today it has added Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary to Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox Game Pass for PC, Windows 10, and Steam.

Yesterday it was reported to be coming soon, but this was a bit quicker than expected.

You will be able to switch between the classic game graphics and the enhanced version depending on which you prefer. You will also notice improvements to Spartan customization.

It also comes with new features, optimizations, and customizations with 60 fps and 4K UHD support. It also features variable framerate, native KBM support and the ability to rebind controls. Ultra-wide displays are supported along with various aspect ratios, and you can expect updated texture and shadow quality.

Microsoft said it also introduced "community-requested features" such as the option to use the game's classic audio in multiplayer

If you play on PC and aren't an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, you can add the game to your library by purchasing The Halo: The Master Chief Collection bundle through the Microsoft Store or Steam for $39.99. At present, it includes today's release along with Halo: Reach and will automatically update with the remaining titles throughout the year once available.

Each release can also be purchased individually for $9.99 except for Halo 3: ODST Campaign which can be purchased for $4.99 - or the regional equivalent.
