Shenmue 3 is now on sale for $30

After an 18-year wait since the second entry in the cult favourite series, you wouldn’t be blamed for immediately jumping on Shenmue 3 at release. If you remained patient for just a little longer, though, you’re about to be rewarded with this all-new low price for the game.

Right now, a number of retailers in both the US and UK have the latest entry in Ryo Hazuki’s quest to track down his father’s killer on sale. It seems to be a universal offer, too, as all stores have it down to $29.99. If you’re in the UK, the price varies a little, with a few extra pennies to be saved if you shop around. Here’s where we’ve found it:

Shenmue 3 had quite the journey to PS4. It began as a surprise announcement during the Sony E3 conference in 2015 and the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for $2 million. That goal was reached – and then some – with the final figure reaching over three-times that amount. It still holds the record as the highest-funded videogame in Kickstarter history.

And then Shenmue 3 came out and it was…fine? Kirk called it “repetitive, rough, but strangely endearing” in the VG247 Shenmue 3 review. If that reception dulled your interest at launch, maybe this price drop is just the thing you’ve been holding out for.

Coming to the series for the first time? Well, you can also get Shenmue 1 + 2 on PS4 or Xbox One for $20 from Amazon US.

Elsewhere in the world of game deals, you can currently find the Yakuza Remastered Collection for $54.99 from Amazon US, there’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for $39.99 on PS4 or Xbox One and Borderlands 3 for $24.99 at Best Buy.

Be sure to keep an eye on Jelly Deals to ensure you’re the first to know about all the best offers across games, tech and more. We’ve got the best PS4 external hard drives, the cheapest PS Plus deal and the best price for The Last of Us Part 2.
