Destiny 2 back online after hotfix 188.8.131.52 causes more materials and currencies to disappear
Another update has broken Destiny 2.
Update: Destiny 2 is back online after a significant rollback due to an unforeseen issue with lost materials after the latest hotfix.
The game state was rolled back to 4:30 pm GMT/11:30 am ET/ 8:30 am PT so any purchases made after then will need to be redone. This is the second update issue in as many weeks and players are understandably frustrated that Destiny 2 was offline for such a long period.
If you’re still missing items or have trouble logging in, head over to the Bungie Help forums or Reddit for advice. Any Fractaline that you donated during that time will also be returned to you.
Original story: After applying hotfix 184.108.40.206 today, Bungie has brought Destiny 2 offline due to reports of missing items.
According to the official word from Bungie, players have reported missing currencies and materials.
This is the second time in the last couple of weeks the game has been brought offline for emergency maintenance. Last time, it was update 2.7.1 that caused an issue of missing Glimmer.
Today is also the day the game’s Crimson Days event was scheduled to kick off. Looks like we’ll just be waiting a bit longer. Until then, read over the hotfix notes below and check out our Crimson Days event guide.
- Added a Triumph to track Iron Banner Packages earned in Season 9. This will retroactively count all packages already earned this season.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Efrideet’s Gift Triumph from completing when players earned 50 Iron Banner packages in Season 9. This is retroactive
- Fixed an issue where resetting your Infamy rank could reset progress on the “Get Closer” pursuit. This is retroactive and will auto-complete for any players that has already been above Mythic this season.
- Fixed an issue where Solar Class emotes were incorrectly priced. Emotes will now be correctly priced at 500 Silver, and the carousel will be visible once more.
