Gigantamax Pokemon Toxtricity coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield

A new Gigantamax Pokemon is coming to Pokemon Sword and Sheild, and Armored Mewtwo is coming to Legendary raids in Pokemon Go.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company today announced more details on this year's Pokemon Day celebration, starting with a new Gigantamax Pokemon for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

First up, the latest Gigatamx Pokemon is Milcery, who will make its debut in a new Max Raid battle. Milcery will be able to Gigantamax after evolving into Alcremie.

A new Gigantamax Pokemon coming to the game is Toxtricity on February 6.

Toxtricity is an Electric/Poison-type with the abilities Punk Rock, Plus, and Minus. Electric-type moves used by Gigantamax Toxtricity will change to G-Max Stun Shock which not only deals damage but also poisons or paralyzes all opponents.

The Max Raid Battle event featuring the Pokemon will end on March 8.

A new Mythical Pokemon for Sword and Shield, as previously announced, will also be revealed on Pokemon Day, February 27.

Pokemon Go players will be able to celebrate Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution coming to Netflix by battling Armored Mewtwo in Legendary raids beginning February 25. Pokemon from the film will also make appearances more often in the wild.

Special Pokemon clones including Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise will also appear in Pokemon Go raids. Speaking of clones, clone Pikachu may appear in photos taken in the game.

During the festivities, you may also encounter Pikachu and Eevee wearing party hats in the wild. This also includes Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle who will also hatch from 7 km Eggs. Players will also be able to complete two Special Trades with friends on Pokemon Day.

And don't forget: you can vote on your favorite Pokemon through a new Google poll. The winners will be announced on February 27.
