Unlike Xbox Series X, PS5 is going to have exclusive games at launch this year - report

Sony is reportedly going to have a different approach to exclusive games at the launch of PS5.

Microsoft has made it clear that players shouldn't expect Xbox Series X exclusive games for at least a year after the console's launch.

Though this news was disappointing for some, it's a more realistic goal than committing to Series X exclusives from the get-go. Sony, however, is seemingly entering the next generation with a different mindset.

Kotaku's Jason Schreier revealed on the recent Splitscreen podcast episode that Sony will have PS5-exclusive games at launch.

Microsoft, according to Schreier, remains committed to making its games available on as many devices as possible - at least early on.

Third-party games, predictably, will be available on both console generations come launch. Schreier name-dropped the next Assassin's Creed game as a prime example of a big-budget cross-gen game coming this year.
