Sony pulls PS4 ad after plagiarism claims

Sony has pulled a music video featuring PlayStation 4 titles after claims of plagiarism.

The video, which has since been pulled by Sony, was released by Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia.

The promotional video featured Tanaka, who has worked with Boku no Lyric no Boyomi, according to Gematsu.

While the video featured clips from 16 game titles, it's the animation in between the clips which is being called into question. Animation website Catsuka created a video showing comparisons between animations and those shown in the PS4 video.

As reported by DualShockers, the animation director behind the video is Kevin Bao - per an interview with Akiba Souten. Bao has also been accused of plagiarising a “Live with YouTube Gaming” animation.

Sony has yet to comment on the accusations. It is unknown at present whether the animations were made in-house or through freelancers, which many believe to be the case.
