Multiplayer beta for Warcraft 3: Reforged begins this week

The multiplayer beta for Warcraft 3: Reforged begins this week.

Blizzard has announced it will be sending out invites for the Warcraft 3: Reforged multiplayer beta, which starts this week.

The multiplayer beta will feature access to the orc and human races within 1v1 and 2v2 matchmaking. The undead and night elf races, and more game modes will be added in the weeks ahead.

First invitations out of the gate will occur in waves to those who have pre-purchased the Spoils of War Edition of the game. More invites will be sent to additional players, especially those who have pre-purchased the standard edition the game.

Warcraft 3: Reforged was revealed at BlizzCon 2018 as a "remake in the truest sense.”

It includes the Frozen Throne and along with the visual overhaul, it will add a “suite of contemporary social and matchmaking features,” through Battle.net.  This includes a new matchmaker for traditional player combat or custom games.

Blizzard said every character, structure, and environment has been recreated and spans all 60 campaign missions. Players can also expect four hours of updated in-game cutscenes and rerecorded voice-overs.

Our first look at the beta dropped earlier this month with footage published by early testers.
