Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has shipped over 2.8 million units

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has shipped over 2.8 million digital copies since September.

Capcom announced in its Q2 fiscal year 2019 report Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has shipped over 2.8 million units since its release.

The figure is up by approximately 300,000 units since the company last reported 2.5 million shipped. The figure is of course only for PS4 and Xbox One, as the expansion won't arrive on PC until January 9.

In total, Monster Hunter World has shipped over 14 million copies globally since its launch in 2018.

As a whole, the company reported a 14% year-over-year (yoy) decrease in net sales to to ¥37.2 billion ($342 million). The decline was attributed to the company's focus on digital over packaged goods. However, net income in the digital content sector was up 43.7% yoy to ¥9.8 billion ($89.9 million).

Capcom attributed the increase in its digital business to sales of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, and continued sales of Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5.
