The House of the Dead and The House of the Dead 2 remakes are in your future.

Forever Entertainment has announced remakes of rail shooters The House of the Dead 1-2 are in the works at MegaPixel.

According to the publisher, it has signed an agreement with Sega regarding remakes of the games. At present, information on platforms and a release date are unknown.

The original title was released in arcades in 1997 and released on Sega Saturn and PC the following year. The House of the Dead 2 made its arcade debut in 1998 before arriving on Sega Dreamcast in 1999 and PC in 2001.

The last release in the series was The House of the Dead: Overkill. It was originally released for Wii in 2009 followed by an extended cut for PS3 in 2011.

A PC version of the game was released in 2013. Dubbed The Typing of The Dead: Overkill, shooting could be switched out for keyboard typing mechanics made popular with The Typing of the Dead.
