Minecraft Earth early access begins in October, pre-registration now open

You'll soon be able to play Minecraft Earth in your country, and you can even pre-register starting today.

At Minecon 2019 earlier today, Microsoft and Mojang revealed a few more details about the anticipated launch of Minecraft Earth.

Starting today, pre-registration is opening up on iOS and Android. If you do pre-register, you'll be notified when the game arrives in your country/region. Minecraft Earth is an online AR game, much in the same way as Pokemon Go, so servers will be going live gradually across the world.

This will all kick off in October with "smaller markets" (think New Zealand), before more and more regions are added. The plan is to cover the entire world by this holiday. The version launching next month is only early access, so it won't include all of the game's features.

What you will have access to in early access, however, are Adventures. An Adventure is a procedurally generated Minecraft world playable in AR. The goal is to work together with other real-world players to take on different objectives. Each Adventure will be available for a limited time.

Mojang will add more content to Minecraft Earth in spring 2020 and beyond.

Minecraft Earth was unveiled back in May as a mobile, augmented reality take on the same Minecraft gameplay everyone knows. The game has been in various forms of beta tests throughout the summer.
