Fortnite x Batman: Welcome to Gotham cross-over coming soon

After the v10.30 update this morning, dataminers were able to find files relating to a Fortnite x Batman cross-over event.

Batman Day falls on September 21 and fans around the globe will celebrate the dark knight, including Fortnite players. The latest Joker film is also due out on October 4, which ties this all together quite nicely.

Alongside Batman-themed skins, there will be two Bat Weapons to choose from: the Explosive Batarang, which will stick to walls and explode when an opponent is in close proximity, and the Batman Grapnel Gun that lets you pull yourself towards a target before deploying your Bat Cape.

Tilted Town will be transformed into Gotham City, and there will be a number of challenges for you to complete involving lighting up the Bat Signal and the Joker.

  • Deal damage to opponents with an Explosive Batarang
  • Light up different Bat Signals outside of Gotham City
  • Use a Batman Grapnel Gun in different matches
  • Defuse Joker gas canisters found in different named locations
  • Deal any damage to opponents within 30 seconds of using a Batman Grapnel Gun
  • Light a Bat Signal, use a Batman Grapnel Gun and deal any damage with an Explosive Batarang

It's not clear when this event goes live, but it looks like it'll either be alongside Thursday's weekly reset or on September 21, which is this Saturday.
