Apex Legends Season 3 map changes are already being teased

The Apex Legends Kings Canyon map has seen a few updates, likely in preparation of a bigger takeover.

Just like Apex Legends developer Respawn used the Kings Canyon map to hint at upcoming Season 2 content, the developer is once again doing the same to tease a different map update in Season 3.

Towards the end of the first Apex Legends season, the barriers around the map protecting it from the surrounding wildlife were suddenly disabled, leading flyers into the map. This was seen as the work of Crypto, the mysterious new hero which many assumed would launch in Season 2. Respawn was instead teasing the appearance of Wattson, who ended up repairing some of the damage caused at the end of Season 1.

We're now in the final weeks of Apex Legends' second season, and work is seemingly already underway on the next map update. Apex Legends players on Reddit have noticed construction flags marking the area around the camp in Shattered Forest.

The walls around this area, located north of Hydro Dam, also now display warning signs to ward off intruders. No one is clear as to what's actually being worked on at that location just yet, but it's a good bet it'll tie into the story of one of the game's legends.

Respawn previously confirmed that every new season will launch with a new hero, new weapon, and a map takeover. Seeing as two of those three have already leaked, fans are keeping track of the new changes to see if they can figure out how it ties to the game's lore.
