Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey reviews round-up, all the scores

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is Patrice Desilets' first game after going indie, and it's time to see what it's all about.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a survival game from Patrice Desilets, the co-creator of Assassin's Creed. Unlike most games in the genre, the goal of Ancestors isn't so much survival itself, but adapting and evolving.

In the game, you play as human ancestors in Africa 10 million years ago, as you go on to explore food/medicine, create tools, avoid predators, and decide how to shape your lineage. This journey of discovery will have you experimenting with remedies, and coming up with solutions to problems those primitive creatures faced every day.

A single Ancestors playthrough will take you around 40-50 hours, according to Desilets.
