China’s Tencent Games announced today that it’s collaborating with The Pokémon Company on a new Pokémon game, but that’s about all either company is saying at this point.
Tencent’s Timi Studio will handle the game’s development. It’s likely to be a mobile title then – Timi Studio is responsible for mobile games like Arena of Valor and Call of Duty: Mobile.
There’s no release date yet, but luckily, we’re in the Golden Age of Pokémon, so there are plenty of other titles to be excited about. A new generation of Pokémon is coming to the Nintendo Switch with Sword and Shield in November (here are all the new critters we’ve heard about). Detective Pikachu, in other news, is now the second highest grossing video game movie ever. And a Pokémon GO leak revealed that the dastardly Team Rocket may be coming to the game soon.
