Plants Vs Zombies 3 is in pre-alpha - you can play it now on Android

Plants vs. Zombies 3 is in the works for Android, and you can try it out for yourself ahead of release via the pre-alpha.

A pre-alpha for the Android version of Plants vs. Zombies 3 will be held, EA announced today.

The pre-alpha is playable from today through Google Play, but only a limited number of downloads will be available in phases. If you miss out on one phase, EA and PopCap Games said to check the page another day for your chance to play.

Any content you play in the pre-alpha is subject to change, some of which will necessitate having to reset progress.

For now, testing is only available on Android devices with 6.0 Marshmallow. It is unavailable on iOS at this time.

The Plants vs. Zombies 3 pre-alpha is free-to-play, and microtransactions will not be available during the testing phase.

You can find out more information through the dedicated page.

A release date will be announced at a later date.
