Here’s our first look at Roach in Netflix’s The Witcher series

The writer of Netflix’s The Witcher series just shared a new image from the show.

This one gives us a good look at Henry Cavill as Geralt, as well as our first proper look at Roach, his trusty steed. Here’s the tweet with the image embedded:

If you look on the right of the image, you can just make out the pommel of Geralt’s monster-slaying silver sword.

“Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts,” says the official show synopsis. “But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”

The Witcher is set to debut some time this year on Netflix. Filming wrapped up in July. You can see more shots of Cavill as Geralt, as well as Ciri (Freya Allan) and Yennefer (Anya Colatra) at that link.
