A third of Cyberpunk 2077 PC digital pre-orders were made on GOG
GOG, the PC digital store owned by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red, has so far secured a big share of the game's pre-orders.
CD Projekt Red has announced that one third of Cyberpunk 2077's PC digital pre-orders so far have been made on GOG. The company revealed the news today on Twitter, thanking fans for their support.
Being fully-owned by Cd Projekt, all sales made on GOG give 100% of profits back to the developer, meaning it won't have to pay a cut in the same way it does to Valve (Steam) or Epic Games (Epic Store) for being on their respective stores.
This is also great news for CD Projekt Red because GOG sells DRM-free copies of games, which is often rare for new AAA games. DRM-free versions don't come with any form of copy protection, which makes most publisher shy away from GOG - save for their years-old, or classic games.
Over on the console side, CD Projekt said it will give the console versions the same treatment as PC, after some feared PS4 and Xbox One will be hampered compared to PC.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches April 16 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
