NYPD confirm YouTuber Desmond "Etika" Amofah has been found deceased

Police investigating the disappearance of YouTuber Desmond "Etika" Amofah have confirmed he has passed away.

Prior to his death, Amofah had been reported missing since June 20. Two days after the report was filed, the police fond his possessions on Manhattan Bridge in New York City.

Today, the NYPD confirmed the 29-year-old Amofah had been found deceased.

Concern for Amofah's well-being started when he uploaded a YouTube video on June 19. The video featured him walking around the city, and discussing his struggles with mental health.

Amofah had previously been hospitalized in April after threatening suicide, and again in May after a run in with an NYPD officer.

A streamer on YouTube since 2012, Amofah's focus was on Nintendo-related games, and he had over 130,000 followers on his main channel, 321,000 followers on Twitter and 252,000 on Instagram (thanks,Nintendo Life).

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Amofah's family, his friends, and his fans.
