New details about the next Yakuza game will emerge on July 10

There's a new, Kazuma Kiryu-less Yakuza games in the works, and we'll know a bit more about it soon.

The new Yakuza game, announced back in 2017, will star Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza Online (a Japan-only card game that you don't need to worry about missing out on too much). It was announced a while back - complete with the trailer below - but we haven't found out much about it since, beyond the fact that it's set after Yakuza 6.

But it sounds like we'll hear more soon.

In an interview with Taiwanese site Gamebase (which has been translated by Gematsu), series producer Daisuke Sato promised that more information about the game will be announced very soon.

"On July 10, we will announce the supporting actress for the new title, as well as share the latest information on the new title, so please look forward to it," he said.

It's likely a while before we see anything definitive about the game getting a western release, but hopefully the "latest information" will be relatively comprehensive.

In the meantime, Judgement - the latest game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio - has just released on PS4, and is apparently quite good.
