The architects of the modern world in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 are the Ventrue.
Ventrue is the fourth proper, full-blood clan in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. The Ventrue are the aristocrats of the vampire, they infiltrate the lives of those in power and bend them to their will.
In the modern world of Bloodlines 2’s Seattle, the Clan of Kings initially wanted to build an independent power structure, but things haven’t been working out too well for that plan. Some Ventrue joined the Camarilla as a means of making use of their power, while others have instead splintered to peruse the old Ventrue dream.
Naturally, the Ventrue’s disciplines rely on manipulation and mind control. Like other clans, they, too, rely on two disciplines that form the basis of how they interact with the rest of the world.
Bloodlines 2 – Ventrue clan disciplines
Dominate allows the Ventrue to dominate the actions and memories of others.
- Mesmerize – the primary Dominate power, allows the Ventrue to place one NPC in a brief hypnotic trance. The person so affected is oblivious to the world around them, ignoring sound, touch and even pain.
- Command – the secondary Dominate power, significantly extends the Ventrue’s control over the Mesmerized NPC. They can now be ordered to move, remove obstacles, or even attack others.
Fortitude: few things truly worry the vampire who masters Fortitude, the discipline of physical resilience.
- Absorb – the first active, allows the vampire to take a brief defensive stance in which they may deflect all attacks they can see, healing their wounds for every would-be strike.
- Personal Armor – the second active power, hardens the vampire’s skin into a stone-like barrier. Can be upgraded to make Ventrue impervious to attacks, causing attackers to stagger back from the recoil of their own strikes.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is coming to PC, and consoles next year.
