Mortal Kombat movie gets 2021 release date

The Mortal Kombat movie reboot will open in cinemas everywhere on March 5, 2021.

The date was revealed by Warner Bros., confirming that pre-production is set to begin this month, with filming to begin later this year.

As revealed last week, the movie will be filmed and produced in South Australia.

Though we still don't have an official synopsis, we do know that it's being produced by Aquaman director James Wan, and directed by Simon McQuoid, making it his first feature film debut.

We're also still waiting on the full title, though I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being just Mortal Kombat, seeing as it's a reboot.

Thanks, Variety.
