Samurai Shodown Western release date confirmed

Samurai Shodown's release date in the West has been officially announced.

SNK has confirmed today that Samurai Shodown launches June 25 on PS4, and Xbox One. The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch, and PC, with the former due out later this year.

The publisher is offering early adopters a pretty decent bonus. Anyone who buys the game at release (digital or retail) and until June 30, will receive the season pass completely free. The pass must be added to your account manually, and it'll unlock access to DLC coming during the game's first six months.

Samurai Showdown launches with four modes: story, online, training, and the new Dojo mode. The story is a prequel, taking place before the events of the 1993 original. The game is constantly capturing player data to create ghosts, which can be challenged in the Dojo.
