Monster Hunter World free to try on PS4 now through May 20

You can give Monster Hunter World a try on PlayStation 4 now through May 20 - for free.

Capcom and Sony have joined forces to offer you a chance to play a Monster Hunter World free trial on PS4 now through May 20.

The news was announced following the reveal of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

From now until May 20, you can try out the opening section of the full version and experience "nearly all of the story," quests, armor, and upgrades up to Hunter Rank 4. Online play is enabled, and three-star assignments are also available for free.

Best part is your save data will carry over to the full version should you decide to purchase.

If you're new to Monster Hunter, the free trial will provide ample time to become acquainted with the basics. If you are not a PS4 user, but subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, the title was made available through the service in April.

Monster Hunter: Iceborne will release worldwide for consoles on September 6. The PC version will release sometime during the “winter” months.

It's more than just a typical expansion, as its relevant in size to previous Monster Hunter Ultimate releases. It is now available for pre-order on Xbox One and PS4.
