The Witcher Netflix series will debut in late-2019

The Witcher series on Netflix will air in late-2019.

Season One of The Witcher series will air on Netflix during the fourth quarter of 2019.

The series launch window was announced by chief content officer Ted Sarandso during Netflix's latest call to investors.

Considering initial reports stated it may not air until 2020, this is good news. Of course, like anything in life, it may see a delay but we'll continue to keep our fingers crossed.

Netflix ordered eight episdoes for season one and the series finale was finalized back in August 2018.

Currently in production in Hungary, Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill stars as Geralt of Rivia. Anna Shaffer plays Triss Merigold, while Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra portray Ciri and Yennefer, respectively.

Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks) stars as Cahir, Joey Batey (Knightfall) as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen (House of Cards, Sherlock) as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson (Wanderlust) as Istredd, Maciej Musiał (1983) as Sir Lazlo, and Wilson Radjou-Pujalte (Jamillah & Aladdin, Dickensian) as Dara.
