Samurai Shodown gets June release date - watch new character trailer

SNK has officially confirmed the initial release date for Samurai Shodown.

The Samurai Shodown revival begins June 27, with the release of the game on PS4, and Xbox One. PC, and Switch versions are also coming sometime this winter. There's even an arcade version that will be available in the summer.

It's worth noting that this release date may just be for the Japanese version, as there's been no official press release for the West yet. June 27 is a Thursday, which is not a usual release day for big games, so that may be slightly different in Western territories.

SNK initially revealed the game would be out before fighting game tournament EVO, which takes place August 2-4. The Japanese publisher later narrowed it down to June, so there's a chance the date is true for all regions.

In celebration, we have a new Samurai Shodown - or Samurai Spirits as it's called in Japan - trailer to enjoy. The trailer also shows off two new characters
