Valve has revealed its VR headset, and it’s called Valve Index. Well, the firm just teased it. We know nothing about it at this time.
Overnight a Steam page for Vale’s long-rumored VR headset was added to the storefront dubbed Valve Index.
At present there’s just an image of the headset along with the tagline “Upgrade your experience.” The May 2019 date indicate when it’s scheduled to be revealed, or released. Again, there is no information available at this time.
In February Valve made 13 positions at the company redundant, some of which were apparently working on the VR headset.
Because the project appears to be finished, layoffs are unfortunately standard with some companies in such cases.
In November, a report stated Valve had been working on its own VR headset. It was said the device was slated for early 2019, and would launch with a Half-Life VR title.
We’ll know more come May.
