How to start the Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Legacy of the First Blade DLC
The third and final episode of the new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC, Legacy of the First Blade, is out now on storefronts, ready for you to eagle dive into over the coming week and weekend. Here’s how to get started on Darius’ story with the Order of the Ancients.
Legacy of the First Blade is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, via either Steam or UPlay.
How to start the Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Legacy of the First Blade DLC
Other than the background of the load game screen, there doesn’t seem to be much indication in-game that the DLC is ready to download. To get started, the easiest thing to do is head over to your digital storefront of choice and search “Assassin’s Creed Odyssey”.
In the “add-ons” section of the game on both Xbox One and PS4, you’ll find Legacy of the First Blade as its own icon. It should be free if you’ve bought the season pass, or costs £19.99 (or your regional equivalent) separately.
Once you’ve downloaded and installed the DLC, boot up the game and jump into your main save game.
If Legacy of the First Blade has been installed correctly you’ll be greeted by a message: “To any who read this, huge forces are closing in and innocents are dying. We will pay whatever we have. Come to Potidaia in Makedonia.”
You'll be able to access the Legacy missions from after chapter 7 of the main story and when your Eagle-Bearer has reached level 28.
The quest you’re looking for is called “The Horsemen Cometh” and is on the westernmost peninsula of Makedonia in the north of the map.
As you head over to the Triple Peninsula of Chalkidike, you might come across a couple more new side quests too. If not, you should find them as you make your way through the side story.
How to start Legacy of the First Blade chapter 2: Shadow Heritage
When you boot up the game, you should see a couple of screens telling you that the DLC is ready to play. However, the quests don't trigger straight away.
Before the DLC will actually trigger you have to manually install it from your platform's storefront. For example on PS4, you have to go to the PlayStation Store, search for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, press down until you get to the Add-Ons section, and then download the Episode separately.
Then, once it's downloaded, enter your game and head over to the western shore of Achaia. There, in the village of Dyme, you'll find Darius on top of a building.
How to start Legacy of the First Blade chapter 3: Bloodline
Once again, to get started with the final part of the Assassin's Creed Odyssey DLC you'll need to head over to your chosen storefront and search for the episode manually.
Then, after you've downloaded it, you'll receive a message in-game from Darius to meet him back at your house in Dyme in the far west of Achaia. You first objective is to "Kill the boars around Dyme" in a quest called "The Simple Life".
When you get close enough to Darius back at your house, you'll automatically trigger a cutscene.
