Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki would “love to take a crack” at creating a battle royale title – someday.

Speaking with the Telegraph, From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki said the studio is interested in battle royale games and live service titles such as Destiny.

Does this mean we can expect a battle royal or live service game from Miyazaki and company at some point? Maybe.

“There’s always the possibility,” he said. “These games are definitely fun. If we did it, it might be a bit different. But we’re definitely interested and there’s definitely that possibility in the future.

“We’d love to take a crack at them some day.”

That said, Miyazaki feels there’s still a market for single-player titles, despite the “current climate” where live service and battle royale are super popular. Both can exist together, as such “diversity” is needed in the industry (thanks, resetera).

“Regardless of what From Software is doing, we need people making battle royale games and live services,” he said. “And we need people making single-player focused experiences. We feel that this diversity is what will keep everyone going.”

From Software’s latest title, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is out March 22. Alex was able to play it recently, and you can read his hands on at the link.
