Kingdom Hearts 3: here's when the epilogue and secret movie will be released

Kingdom Hearts 3 is finally out at the end of the month, and Square Enix has provided information on when to expect updates.

If you plan on picking up Kingdom Hearts 3 on January 29, you'll want to look over the update schedule for the game.

Square Enix provided information on the content updates through Twitter earlier today. We've organized it a bit for you below, but you can look over the Twitter thread here, if preferred.

This information includes the epilogue and secret movie, which luckily, weren't spoiled when the game leaked early.

Kingdom Hearts 3 update schedule

Tuesday, January 29 - release day

  • Update 1.01 (several data fixes)
  • Memory Archive (videos): The Memory Archive option will be added to the game's title menu and can be viewed at any time. This is a digest of the story in the series up to this point.

Wednesday, January 30

  • Epilogue (video): Players will need to have completed Kingdom Hearts 3 and seen the ending to view this video.

Thursday, January 31

  • Secret (video): Players will need to have completed Kingdom Hearts 3, seen the ending, and fulfilled certain criteria during play to view this video. The criteria vary depending on the difficulty level selected. Both the epilogue and secret movie are video content provided to enhance player's enjoyment of the world.

Kingdom Hearts 3 releases January 25 in Japan, and January 29 in Europe and North America on PS4 and Xbox One.
