Overwatch Pink Mercy charity skin and shirt raised $12.7 million for breast cancer research

The Overwatch Pink Mercy skin and shirt Blizzard sold to support breast cancer research raised $12.7 million.

Blizzard announced it had raised $12.7 million towards breast cancer research from selling the Overwatch Pink Mercy skin and t-shirt.

In the announcement, it was broken down how the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) would use the funds to examine every aspect of breast cancer diagnosis for women and men across the globe.

The money will be dispersed between the Precision Prevention Initiative, the BCRF Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium Award, and 25 Annual BCRF Research Grants.

A pie chart showing the research grant areas is posted below, and more information on how the $12.7 million will be spent can be found through the link.

The studio partnered with the BCRF in May to sell the $15 limited-edition legendary skin. A t-shirt featuring the winged hero in pink was also made available for $30.
