Big Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 update coming this week, Treyarch investigating disappearing optics and quads performance

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch continues to work on addressing player reported problems, and the studio promised to release a big update later this week.

The update will bring "key improvements and new additions" to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, according to Treyarch, who also listed a few other issues on its radar.

Players jumping in Blackout quad games have been reporting poor network performance in some cases, especially on Xbox One. Though the cause of the issue is hard to pin down, Treyarch is working on replicating it internally so that a fix can be developed.

One other smaller, but nonetheless annoying issue players have been complaining about since launch is that red dot optics sometimes disappear and reappear when you aim down sights. The developer is working on a fix.

There's also a long list of "unexpected behaviour" affecting the game's emblem editor, from layers that can't be deleted to other problems that only happen when many layers are used.

In custom search and destroy matches, some players have reported matches inexplicably ending after round seven. Both of these issues too are being looked into.

Treyarch also continues to look into problems reported over the weekend, and create fixes for problems like emote peeking in Blackout. A specific date and a list of patch notes were not provided.
