LEGO Worlds free DLC is locked behind online membership on Switch

The free DLC for LEGO Worlds is currently unavailable on Switch without the paid online membership.

LEGO Worlds' free content is locked behind Nintendo Switch Online's paid membership right now. Bricks to Life contributor, Paul Haan, discovered the issue last month, which doesn't allow for the free mega DLC Showcase Collection Pack to be downloaded without a paid membership to Nintendo's online services.

Following it up with WB Games support, Haan was told that "after further investigation...it appears to be due to the recent policy changes per Nintendo requiring an Online account" to access the content.

Haan went on to share a snippet of his email correspondence with Nintendo, in which he was told that the customer service team had "created a new incident" for its "new situation team."

The service went live last month, so it's possible there are still a number of kinks to be ironed out.

Nintendo's first party titles all require Switch Online membership in order to access certain content. You can find out more about the service, cloud saves, NES games, and everything else you'd care to know about the paid service right here.
