A certain White Wolf makes a surprise appearance in the new Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales story teaser.
Gwent’s first single-player campaign, Thronebreaker, has grown from an impressive expansion to a standalone RPG in its own right. The full game offers a 30-hour branching narrative where each match determines the fate of Queen Meve’s war effort. But that “Witcher Tales” subtitle isn’t just for show – it seems Geralt of Rivia will debut as an in-game character.
The latest Thronebreaker trailer is more of a story teaser, showing brief glimpses of what to expect. But the key moment arrives just at the end, as Geralt faces the camera with a literal half-smirk. Considering the White Wolf is already a playable unit in Gwent’s core game, perhaps Meve will call on his aid in this story as well.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales launches for PC on October 23, 2018, with PlayStation 4, and Xbox One editions arriving on December 4. Gwent’s official release will occur at the same time along with the Homecoming update.
