People are mad about a supposed puddle downgrade in Marvel’s Spider-Man

Some video game fans are currently mad about puddles in a Spider-Man game. That’s where we are with today’s discourse.

The original reveal for the game showed a construction site battle with some goons. During that fight, the floor was slick from recent rainfall. In the newest footage, the puddles are smaller. I know!

Here’s just one of hundreds of examples of people shouting at developer Insomniac over the puddles, drawing big red circles on still images:

There are clear differences in the image, but that’s what happens in game development - things change. People reacting like this over surface changes to a game is why some developers are weary about showing a game off too early.

You also have to take into account that this is an open world game full of variables, and how lighting has an impact on a scene.

I just can’t believe people are getting mad about puddles. Puddles! If you’re mad about puddles in a Spider-Man game, I hope you never accidentally watch the news.

Look at this tweet from Insomniac, this is ridiculous. Are you really this shallow? Little puddle joke for you there.

Personally, I can’t wait to do this all over again when Cyberpunk 2077 comes out.
