Sega to announce brand new IP from Yakuza studio next month

Sega boss, Toshihiro Nagoshi, says a new IP is in the works at Yakuza Studio.

Sega's chief creative officer and director of the Yakuza series, Toshihiro Nagoshi, has revealed that the studio behind the Yakuza games and Binary Domain has been working on a brand new IP for the past three years, and it will be officially announced in September.

The news comes from Sega's Japanese Sega-nama livestream via Gematsu, during which Nagoshi described the new game as being very different to the Yakuza series.

He teased more details for the next Sega-nama broadcast, after the Tokyo Game Show, saying that Sega will be "[discussing] topics no one is going to expect."

"It’s a new title announcement that will turn things upside down," he added.

We may see the announcement made at TGS, which kicks off on September 19 and runs until September 23, but Nagoshi did confirm that the title will be revealed in September.
