Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta client will be updated with Blackout battle royale September 10

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout battle royale beta will go live on September 10 first on PS4, so don't delete your current beta client just yet.

Treyarch has confirmed that the beta client for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which took place over the weekend, will automatically turn into the Blackout beta when it launches.

Activision confirmed today the Blackout battle royale beta is due to start on September 10 first on PS4, which means those who took part in last week's beta won't have to look forward to a big download come launch.

PC, and Xbox One follow on September 14 for those who pre-ordered. Then, on September 15, the PC open beta will kick off.

The developer confirmed this detail on Reddit. This is very good news for players planning to try out Blackout when the beta kicks off, and it's especially great because the same beta code also gets you access to the Blackout battle royale beta.

It's not clear just yet how big the Blackout beta is going to be, so we're not sure if the patch to turn the current client into Blackout will be massive or just a few gigs. We'll keep an eye out for any news, of course.

What we do know, according to the tweet posted above, is testers will be trying it out in solo, or through duo, and quad matches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out October 12 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
