Windjammers Nintendo Switch release announced with the perfect 90s inspired trailer

The top-down disc throwing game arcade game Windjammers, that launched on PS4 and Vita last year, is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Dotemu has announced that Windjammers, first released on the Neo Geo back in 1994, is coming to the Switch later this year.

The initial 2017 re-release included all characters and stages from the original. Local and online muliplayer were added - a benefit of a second launch over two decades later. A Ranked Mode was also thrown in for good measure.

The most lauded feature was the GGPO netcode, usually used in fighting games, that is perfectly suited for the fast-paced gameplay.

Featuring five modes, six characters, and "ultimate competitive multiplayer" gaming, the Switch version "mirrors the full game as released last year on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita with online rankings, several great modes and Windjammin’".

An exact release date hasn't been announced just yet.
