Fortnite player sabotages rocket launch viewing party, now holds solo kill record

In a dastardly turn of events, a Fortnite player sabotaged a rocket viewing party and now holds the all time solo kill record.

Fortnite's rocket finally launched this weekend, and left a crack in the sky over the map. Players gathered to watch the event, with a temporary truce being held for a few minutes, but one player took advantage of the moment and used it to wipe out 48 players in one fell swoop.

Elemental_Ray, a player with a k/d ratio of 0.47, is now sitting at the top of the leaderboard for single match kills in Fortnite after destroying a ramp holding 48 players who had gathered to watch the rocket launch, topping the previous record of 33 kills.

Despite the varied responses he's received for his method of setting the new record, Elemental_Ray seems to be enjoying the limelight, with the pinned tweet on his account displaying his recent accomplishment.

You can watch the events unfold in a longer video on YouTube.

The rocket launch event started being teased a few weeks ago and will be tied to Season 5, which kicks off on July 12.

With the imminent release of season 5, we could also be moving closer toward an Android release date as Fortnite takes every platform by storm.
