Fallout 76 cross-platform play with PS4 is something Bethesda would have loved

Add Fallout 76 to the list of games folks on PC and Xbox One would like to play with their PS4 brethren.

Fallout 76 is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in November, and it will feature cross-platform play between PC and Xbox One. The ability to play with those on PS4 though, as you know, is out of the question.

Bethesda's Todd Howard has said the company would have loved cross-platform play between PC, PS4 and Xbox One, but Sony won't allow it.

"We would have loved [cross-platform] with Fallout 76 but right now we can't," Howard told Gamestar.de. "But Sony is not as helpful as everyone would like, but we'll see what happens in the future."

You can hear Howard discuss the matter in the video interview around the 10:47 mark. Mind, his reply is a bit hard to hear due to the video translator.

Fallout 76

Many of us are keeping our fingers crossed on Sony seeing the light at some point. The company said it's currently looking for a solution that will be “accepted” by the PS4 community regarding cross-platform play with Xbox One and Switch.

Sony has yet to comment on what sort of "solution" it is considering regarding cross-play ability with Switch and Xbox One.

Until then, keep hope alive we reckon.
