Rage 2 is targeting 60fps on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X

Rage 2 will indeed run at 60fps if you have one of the more powerful consoles, or indeed PC.

Rage 2 is a curious game. It's a sequel to id Software's shooter from the previous generation, but it's not all made by id Software.

Mad Max, and Just Cause developer Avalanche is making the open-world, vehicles, and everything but the core shooting mechanics - those are left for id. Rage 2 is built on Avalanche's own Apex engine, known for making open-world games.

But Apex-based games aren't known for running at 60fps, at least on consoles. On the other hand, id Software shooters often strive for 60fps, and the original Rage certainly managed it.

According to Avalanche, Rage 2 will indeed go for the same 60fps target, but only on PS4 Pro, Xbox One, and of course PC. The studio confirmed this to Eurogamer at E3 this week.

We'll just have to wait and see how it shakes out come launch.

Rage 2 is due out in spring 2019 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
