Mega Man 11 has been given a release date.

Capcom announced a release date for Mega Man 11 today, so mark your calendars for October 2.

According to the company, Mega Man fans will find the core, classic game mechanics in place, but this time out, swapping between powers is easier thanks to the addition of a weapon wheel.

There’s also a Double Gear system in Mega Man 11 which adds a “unique new twist” with options to enhance Mega Man’s speed and power at any time. You can check out the Double Gear system in the trailer, which also provides a look at the new Robot Master bosses Block Man and Fuse Man.

Here’s the story synopsis for Mega Man 11:

In Mega Man 11, Dr. Wily is back to his mischievous ways and has had a true flash of evil genius, deciding to invest in an ambitious idea from his time at Robot University where he studied alongside Dr. Light, Mega Man’s benevolent creator. Dr. Light, who also recalls this inventive idea, decides to upgrade Mega Man with this powerful prototype known as the Double Gear system, installing it into his circuits and expanding his abilities for the greatest fight yet for everlasting peace as they take on the evil attempts of Dr. Wily to conquer the world.

Capcom Unity has plenty more info on the game if you’re interested.

In addition to Mega Man 11, don’t forget about the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 out now on Nintendo Switch, which means all 10 of the original entries are now playable on the platform.

Additionally, all of the Blue Bomber’s games in the futuristic X series will be available in Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2, coming this July 24 to consoles and PC.

Mega Man 11 will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
